Downsizing
What doesn’t make the move.
Downsizing is not a smaller version of moving. It is a season of decisions, and most of them are about what a life needs and what it only had room for. We help you make them, room by room, and then we handle what comes after.
Start with the new house, not the old one. Sort in the order that builds momentum. Give every object somewhere to go, so a decision made on Tuesday is gone by Thursday. And do the rooms with the photographs last, when the house already feels lighter.
That is the method. Here is how to begin.
Two things, both free.
A walk-through
One of our Home Stewards comes to the house, walks it with you, and tells you honestly what the move will take: which rooms will go quickly, which will not, what should go to consignment, what the realtor will want first. An hour, no obligation, and you will know where to start.
The checklist, with our notes
Our room-by-room downsizing checklist, the five categories, the questions to ask about each thing, and the order we work in. It arrives by email from a real person, with recommendations for your house written in the margins.
Tell us about the house.
A few lines is plenty. You will hear from a person, usually the same day.
